Public Rooms
The Fishermans Bar is generally accepted to be the hub of the Hotel. It is here that fishers, shooters and golfers alike discuss the successes of the day while enjoying a pint of ale or glass of wine. Surrounded by photos, artwork and memorabilia, the décor reflects the field sports that most of our Guests come here to enjoy.
It is in The Fishermans that you will find our Whisky Bar. Around 30 single malts from across Scotland are just waiting for you to sample and find that perfect wee dram for your pallette.
The Public Bar is more relaxed and informal. This is where you’ll find our darts board and pool table – the ideal opportunity to while away the evening and discover exactly who really is the best! We also screen major Scottish and international football matches on our 6 x7 foot projector screen with surround sound – make sure you shout loudly to support your team!
Both Bars are well stocked with an extensive range of spirits, liqueurs, draught beers and lagers with popular brews such as Tennents Lager, Belhaven Best and Speckled Hen ale.
A Drawing Room was very much the norm in Victorian days and the Tayside was no exception. We are quite proud of our small panelled Drawing Room, which doubles as a Library and TV room. It is the ideal venue for a morning coffee while catching up with friends or an after-dinner dram over a board-game or even a round of bridge.
The Garden Room is the Hotels’ Function Room. Holding up to 140 people it is ideal for birthday celebrations, wedding receptions, charity fundraising events and festive parties. It is here that the annual Stanley Ceilidh is staged with over 400 people travelling from near and far to participate or just to enjoy the great music played over the course of this 3 day festival.
Whether you want to curl up with a book, set the world to rights with friends or be alone for some quiet contemplation, there is a room to suit your mood at the Tayside.
